Locals speak in hushed tones of the Fyakra — a shape-shifting spirit said to steal people’s voices and wear their skin. For decades, it was dismissed as folklore. But in 2025, that myth comes alive again.
When satellite interference and mass hallucinations disrupt communication towers in the region, a reclusive government neuroscientist, Dr. Ahaana Sen, is sent to investigate. She discovers that the area is under the influence of a neuro-viral phenomenon — a frequency emitted from an ancient buried object that alters perception and identity.
The Monster Within
As villagers start acting like exact copies of one another — speaking in the same voice, expressing the same memories — Ahaana suspects this is no ordinary viral outbreak. Her research links the symptoms to a banned neural weapon project called “Fyakra,” which aimed to overwrite consciousness itself.
But who activated it? And why now?
As paranoia spreads, Ahaana realizes that even her own memories are shifting. Her late brother, who died in childhood, appears in her dreams — but speaks as if he’s still alive. The lines blur between hallucination and reality, between her thoughts and those imposed by something ancient, intelligent, and awake.
The Hunt for the Source
Aided by Rafiq, a local hacker who’s immune to the signal due to a brain injury, Ahaana follows clues through abandoned research facilities, tribal ruins, and encrypted dream logs. They discover that Fyakra is not a being — it’s a collective memory parasite that uses emotion as a host and spreads through voice, thought, and touch.
Its goal is simple: unity through erasure — a world with no individuality, no conflict, no pain. But to achieve that, it must overwrite every human mind it touches.
Final Confrontation
In a climactic sequence inside a memory-temple hidden beneath a dried-up riverbed, Ahaana faces the core of the Fyakra — a sentient tangle of echoing voices and forgotten histories. To stop it, she must sacrifice her last remaining unaltered memory: her mother’s voice. In doing so, she resets the parasite’s cycle but loses a part of herself.
The village survives. The voices stop. But Ahaana walks away unsure if she’s still herself — or a shell holding memories rewritten for peace.
